-Karma-

Pañcasīla (Pāli) is the fundamental code of Buddhist ethics, willingly undertaken by lay followers of Gautama Buddha. It is a basic understanding of the Noble Eightfold Path, which is a buddhist teaching on ways to stop suffering.

Pancasila
To refrain from destroying living creatures.
To refrain from taking that which is not given.
To refrain from sexual misconduct.
To refrain from incorrect speech.
To refrain from intoxicants which lead to carelessness.

Noble Eightfold Path
Right View, Intention, Speech, Action, Work, Effort, Mindfulness and Concentration.

These ultimately lead to cessation of suffering and thus is a way to be free of Samsara. After that, Nirvana is achieved.

The Seven Deadly Cardinal Sins

Living in Eternal Damnation - Living in Eternal Damnation -

According to Sacred Origins of Profound Things, by Charles Panati, Greek monastic theologian "Evagrius of Pontus" first drew up a list of eight offenses and wicked human passions. They were, in order of increasing seriousness: [Least Serious] +gluttony+ +lust+ +greed+ +sloth+ +wrath+ +envy+ +pride+[Most Serious] Evagrius saw the escalating severity as representing increasing fixation with the self, with pride as the most egregious of the sins, "not to care" denoted "spiritual sloth."

Melancholia is a mood of non-specific depression. It is characterized by low levels of enthusiasm and low levels of eagerness for activity. It was previously described as a distinct disease as early as the fifth and fourth centuries BC in the Hippocratic writings. It was characterized by "aversion to food, despondency, sleeplessness, irritability, restlessness," as well as the statement that "Grief and fear, when lingering, provoke melancholia." It is now generally believed that strong melancholia was the same phenomenon as what is now called clinical depression.
